We constantly come across unbelievable book covers, fantastic book art, and strange oddities that we feel are worthy of sharing with others.
Can't say I'm all that crazy about the dress, but the hat sure works for me!

Doesn't this image just say it all? Light in the darkness... full of magic... ladies and gentlemen, introducing.... THE BOOK! For the full size image to make a huge desktop background, click here.

Wouldn't a couple of these be fantastic in the front window? Going to have to start harassing our handyman to build us a couple of these.

As I consider various possibilities for a revamped front counter, I have to admit that this one is really vying for my attention:

Yeah, I know... pretty cool, right?
Things that I love about living in Canada:
The medical system.
The kindness of strangers.
The availability of clean drinking water and good food.
Our hardworking service clubs.
Human rights that include people from all walks of life.
My right to speak my mind, about anything and everything.
... and so much more.

Images like this one, hold the truth of the matter in their very essence.
Books are a thousand more effective than any weapon of war or destruction in changing the world that we live in. The potential for limitless education, empowerment, and the opening of both mind and soul all lie within the confines of the covers of a book. Literacy is the ultimate "weapon" in a fight for freedom, equality, peace and happiness that many of us fight on a daily basis.

I was just up front, wandering around the store, trying to pretend to be a customer. I think that's the ONLY drawback that comes with my job... never truly being able to walk in and experience the bookstore for the first time. I've been away on a couple of longer vacations, and after a month away, I get a glimpse of what it must be like. I feel that incredible sensation of being "embraced by books" a little like I'm on a treasure hunt, and instantaneously relaxed.
The sun is shining through the window, the cat is sleeping in his bed, lost in a sunbeam of dreams, our favourite selection of songs called "Breathe" is playing on our bookstore sound system, and everyone seems to be in a fantastic mood. Mmmm.... life is good!
