We love supporting and connecting with members of our community.

At The Book Man, we love getting to know the different members of our community (both human and animal) and providing support in whatever way we can.

Book donations.

We are proud to provide support to the Rotary Club of Chilliwack Fraser Valley. Each week, we donate a truckload of books to their drop off point to help them accumulate books for their yearly book sale and we encourage our customers to do the same. We also recommend that our customers donate books to Hidden Treasures or MCC Thrift Stores in Abbotsford.

Four-legged friends club.

All leashed four-legged friends are welcome at The Book Man! Our paw-parazzi will photograph your furry friend (dog, cat, ferret, bunny, etc.) for our website and give you a questionnaire to fill out.

Participants will receive 10% off their purchase on the day that we add their friend’s photo on our website. That’s your treat for convincing your friend to stay still. We also have duck treats for them to help sweeten the deal!

Chilliwack Mural Festival.

We are proud facilitators of local murals in downtown Chilliwack. Our involvement in the local Mural Festival has allowed art to continue to be present in our city.

COMMUNITY LIBRARIES.

We support over 60 Little Free Libraries and provide free bookshelves throughout the community. Look around the city and you’ll be sure to find one of our libraries stocked with something you can delve into.

Reading Rink

Reading Rink is our literacy initiative with the Chilliwack Chiefs. Through this great partnership, we are able to provide free books at the Chilliwack Chiefs’ games in order to promote literacy with our community’s young readers. We even have a mascot named Pages who is always ready to engage with people attending the games.

Downtown Chilliwack Community Farmer's Market.

The local farmer’s market takes place right on our back doorstep. We are proud to support local farmers and artisans of all varieties.

Chilliwack Pride Society.

The Book Man is a main sponsoring body of the Chilliwack Pride society. We are incredibly honoured to be able to continuously work to support inclusivity and change in our community.

The Book Man is a family run, locally owned new and used bookstore with two locations in Historic Downtown Chilliwack and Abbotsford’s Little Oak Mall. Between our two stores, we house over half a million beautifully organized books for you to peruse.
