Trade in for Something New

Trade a Book

We give trading credit for used books in great condition.

You need room on your bookshelf, and we need books. It’s a match made in heaven! We are always happy to take books in great condition for trading credit from our customers.

book bin
Our standard policies for buying and trading books.

We want to ensure that our customers are receiving the very best selection of books available. While we are always happy to buy and trade books from the public, we are extremely selective about the condition and will only take books that are marketable and are needed in our stock. In most cases, we will take back books that were originally purchased from us as long as they are still in sellable condition.

How to trade your books.

You can trade your books with us at any time! No appointment necessary!

If you have books that you are looking to get rid of, simply bring your books to one of our locations and leave them with our friendly staff members. We can usually look through small amounts of books immediately, giving you time to lose yourself in the stacks and have a pleasurable browse while we work out credits for any books we are able to take.

While we don’t have the staff to come to your house to view a collection of books, you are always welcome to bring your books to the store, three boxes at a time. If you have a large collection (more than six boxes), please call ahead to discuss your options. For larger collections of books, it can take up to seven days for a book buyer to look at your books in-store. That said, almost all collections are looked at within 24 hours of being dropped off.

Please note that, due to limited storage space and fire code restrictions, any books that we are unable to take will be donated to the Rotary Club of Chilliwack. Each week, we donate two truckloads of books to them to help them accumulate books for their annual book sale.

used books
How much are your goods worth?

We pay 40% of our selling price in trading credit for used books. Trading credit can then be used to up to 50% of each used book purchase, allowing you to significantly save on the largest trading selection in the Lower Mainland.

We also take a very select variety of magazines, comics, and vinyl! If we can use them, we will pay 25¢ in credit for each magazine. We also accept Archie comics in good condition and offer 25¢ for singles, 50¢ for doubles, or 2 for 1 trades. We are extremely selective when it comes to choosing vinyl for our customers and are willing to pay $1 for each album we can use.

We always recommend calling ahead or bringing in one of each magazine for us to take a look at. This will give us time to find out if we carry your magazines in stock.

Please note that trading credit has no cash value and can’t be converted into cash or used to purchase gift certificates under any circumstances. Trading credit also can’t be used to purchase new merchandise, such as brand new books, t-shirts, and book bags. Our trading credits never expire and can be used at either of our store locations.
